To make its campus more supportive of all faculty who are new parents, Princeton University NJ will automatically extend tenure time to faculty of both sexes.
Most schools require new parents to request an extension beyond the normal six years, which deters many women from asking for it, because it may be seen as a sign of weakness and or cause potential bias against their tenure bid.
