Columbia University NY will spend $15 million to recruit more women and minority faculty, the school announced recently. It plans to add 15 to 20 new faculty positions in arts and sciences in the next three to five years.
"These funds allow us to bring on board a critical cluster of new talents in the arts and sciences that in turn may help us recruit other scholars from underrepresented groups," said Jean Howard, Columbia's vice provost for diversity initiatives.
