The town of Turgut, in the Aegean province of Mu?la's Yata?an district, is preparing to host an ancient religious ritual as part of the 6th Lagina Art and Culture Festival. Turgut Mayor Muammer Bahceli said on Monday the ceremony would take place Sept. 16-17 at the sacred site of Hekate, one of Anatolia's best moon-viewing locales. Bahceli said in a written statement that the ancient city of Lagina was an important center during the days of the Carian civilization, which ruled southwestern Anatolia in 3000 B.C.
