NEW YORK -- The National Commission on Federal Election Reform, cochaired by former president Jimmy Carter and James Baker, has released today and will present to Congress a report that makes further recommendations for federal election reform.

Christopher Edley, Jr., dean and professor of law at the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkley and Tova Wang, democracy fellow at The Century Foundation, were affiliated with the original Federal Election Reform Commission, assembled in 2001 following the troubled presidential election in 2000.
