: Sandoz, the world's largest generic player, is making more investments in the country.

Andreas Rummelt, CEO of Sandoz, said that the company is setting up an active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) facility at Mahad in Maharashtra. "The new facility will be a multi-purpose chemicals plant. It is part of our strategy to be more vertically integrated," said Mr Rummelt.

Sandoz, the generics business arm of Novartis, recently acquired Novartis' unviable rifampicin bulk drug business and facility at Mahad. The new facility is being set up on the premises of the rifampicin bulk drug facility. This will be the generic major's …
