Signs relations between pan-democrats are fraying appeared when maverick legislator Albert Cheng, a close friend of Acting Chief Executive Donald Tsang, unleashed a broadside at Democratic Party chief Lee Wing-tat.

Cheng's blast came during a Legislative Council motion Wednesday moved by radical activist Leung Kwok- hung condemning Beijing's interpretation of the Basic Law over the tenure of Hong Kong's next leader.
