YONKERS, N.Y. -- Consumer Reports' (CR) 2005 Annual April Auto Issue paints a more expansive reliability picture than ever before for used cars. The expanded coverage in the "Used Cars: Best & Worst" report results from an overwhelming response to CR's 2004 annual subscriber survey; CR received a total of 810,000 responses from its subscribers -- 135,000 more than 2003 -- who told CR about the reliability experiences they have had with the cars they own or lease.
This year, there are seven new entries on the list of 54 CR Good Bets-typically reliable used cars that have performed well in CR's road tests. These new entries include the Acura RSX; Ford Crown Victoria; Infiniti Q45; Lexus IS300; Mercury Grand Marquis; Mitsubishi Galant; and Toyota Prius.
But on the other hand, there are 15 new entries on the list of 34 CR Bad Bets …
