Redmond, Washington _ If your company has between 25 and 500 PCs, then Microsoft is thinking of you _ and it would like you to know this and feel reassured because Microsoft engineers are working on a set of software solutions for you _ and for 1.4 million other mid-sized companies around the world.

Although the core technology underlying this platform, which will be based on the Windows Server Longhorn platform, is possibly more than a year away, Microsoft last week mapped out some of the components and explained how new role-based solutions would integrate well with the next generation of Microsoft Office and make life easier for IT staff in the mid-sized market.
