Like other service industries, the UK legal profession has seen many changes in the past decade. It has become more competitive and lawyers now have to be much more business-like in their approach and more responsive to clients' needs.
This is also true of legal information services, which have become increasingly competitive as the internet opens up new opportunities. The traditional legal publishing companies have been a bit slower to move their services online, while internet technologies have enabled smaller publishers to exploit niches quickly and cheaply.
