Sep. 9--Hong Kong is hoping more Thai corporations will either issue bonds or list on the equity market in the territory now that it has signed a double taxation avoidance agreement with Thailand.
"This is Hong Kong's first such agreement with a country in Asia-Pacific.We hope that it will help build economic and financial ties between the two places," said Frederick Ma, Hong Kong's secretary for financial services and treasury.
Mr Ma was in Bangkok on Wednesday to sign the agreement with Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkon.
