Sep. 9--U-Star (Thailand) Co, the direct-sales firm owned by Paiboon Damrongchaitham, the head of GMM Grammy Plc, is shifting its focus to working women from teenagers.

Managing director Sauyu Dalgleish said working women had more purchasing power and brand loyalty than teenagers.

Consequently, U-Star is cutting back on personal-care products for teens such as talcum powder and perfume and increasing the number of skin-care products.

It is also expanding distribution by encouraging members to open U-Star Boutique shops in Bangkok as kiosks, stand-alone shops or as corners with an investment of between ...
