Sep. 9--Bangkok Bank yesterday announced increases in its lending and deposit rates, a move likely to be followed shortly by other local banks.
The country's largest bank raised its loan rates by 0.25 points, bringing the minimum lending rate to 6 percent, minimum overdraft rate to 6.25 percent and minimum retail rate to 6.5 percent.
Fixed deposit rates were increased by 0.5 percentage points, with three-month rates now at 1.5 percent, six-month rates 1.75 percent and 12-month rates 2 percent.
