WALTHAM, Mass. -- Bentley is pleased to announce that Commencement for the Class of 2005 will take place on Saturday, May 21 at the college. The conferring of undergraduate degrees will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will feature James H. Quigley, CEO, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, as guest speaker. McCallum Graduate School of Business degrees will be conferred at 3 p.m. with a keynote address by Jim Koch, founder and chairman of The Boston Beer Company. Honorary Doctors of Commercial Science degrees will be awarded to the speakers.
An authority on business ethics and an advocate for corporate community service involvement, Quigley's career parallels two of Bentley's largest areas of focus and strength. "We wanted to find someone who could speak with personal knowledge and wisdom about lapses in corporate business ethics and efforts being taken to right them," said Bentley President Joseph G. Morone. "Someone who is very involved with government and professional efforts to clean up the corporate environment."
Koch, who grew the business into America's leading craft brewer, has first-hand knowledge of Bentley. Last spring MBA students examined the 20-year evolution and growth of The Boston Beer Company in a management course, "The Organizational Life Cycle: The Boston Beer Company -- Brewer of Sam Adams Boston Lager."
