(From Hull Daily Mail)

The fans streamed through West Park in their thousands for one of the biggest parties Hull had ever seen.

The invitations went out two weeks ago after Hull City had clinched back-to-back promotions to become the most successful team in the club's history.

The KC Stadium looked magnificent, a proud and passionate sea of black-and-amber.

They'd come to pay homage to Peter Taylor and his players in their final home game of a record-breaking season.

The stage was set. Even the sun came out seconds before the kick off. It seemed to shine on Ben Burgess as he took his place on the subs' bench.

There was just one problem. Sheffield Wednesday hadn't read the script.
