NOT EVEN IN THE STREETS OF NEW YORK will President Macapagal-Arroyo get a brief respite from protesters demanding her resignation.

Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo yesterday said the President next week would be facing world leaders and the international press with confidence arising from Tuesday's defeat of the impeachment bid against her in the House of Representatives.

Militant groups, however, said jeers-not cheers-would greet Ms Arroyo when she presides over a Security Council summit of world leaders at the UN headquarters in New York.
