CONTROVERSIAL plans to shut four sheltered housing schemes in Rotherham are expected to be approved later this week.
More than 30 aged person's housing schemes in the town had been earmarked for possible demolition because they do not come up to scratch - and need at least GBP30 million spending on them.
Housing and social services bosses carried out a survey of all the schemes and now say that four are no longer "sustainable". Another at Kimberworth Park closed last year before the current plans were drawn up.
