Record entries across the board have been recorded in the livestock sections of the Royal Bath & West of England Show, which opens today at Shepton Mallet.
A total of 547 cattle, 1,252 sheep, 320 pigs, 334 alpacas and 213 goats will be on parade before the judges during the four days of the event.
Livestock chairman Edwin White said he was delighted that entries were well up in all categories.
"The team is really looking forward to this year's event and the encouraging entries indicate it will be a great success," he said.
