A student charged with raping a 19-year-old girl has been found guilty of involvement in an illicit relationship, a court ruled yesterday.
The 21-year-old Palestinian student, identified as O.A., will spend a year in jail for his illicit relationship and an additional month for consuming liquor. He will be deported after serving his term.
The Dubai Public Prosecution had originally charged the accused with drinking, luring the 19-year-old Lebanese victim, identified as S.C., to his car and raping her. However, he was found guilty of involvement in an illicit relationship.
