Sep. 6--The government should invest in a single-model mass-transport system to avoid problems related to system connections in the future, according to Somchai Sujjapongse, deputy director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office.

Citing a comment from Finance Minister Thanong Bidaya, Dr Somchai said investing in any other model might create problems in the future, if commuter numbers increase substantially.

Transport Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal earlier proposed a cheaper bus transport system, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), instead of the planned Purple Line subway between Bang Yai and Bang Sue and the Orange Line ...
