Sep. 6--The credit agency Fitch Rating yesterday announced the first rating for an asset management company in Thailand. Fitch assigned a rating of AA(tha)/V1(tha) to the AJF Cash Management Fund, a fixed-income fund run by Ayudhya JF Asset Management.

Vincent Milton, the managing director of Fitch Ratings, said the bond ratings were aimed at giving investors an additional tool to assess the potential volatility and risk of mutual funds.

He said Fitch was in talks with a number of other fund management companies to offer additional ratings over the next several months.
