Sep. 6--The Dutch financial services firm ING is considering expanding into Thai pension services, to build on fast-growing asset management and life insurance. "ING is poised to expand its presence into the local pension market once the Thai pension services market is liberalised," said Alexander Rinnooy Kan, executive board member and chairman of ING Insurance Asia/Pacific.

ING believes there are growth opportunities in an ageing world. More than one-fifth of the world's people will be 60 years or older by 2050. In Europe and several Asian countries, about one third of the population will be pensioners.
