Sep. 6--Toyota Motor Thailand Co yesterday celebrated the successful first year of its international innovative multi-purpose vehicle (IMV) programme, with domestic and export sales of nearly 220,000 units. "The successful IMV project not only makes Thailand one of the biggest pickup truck manufacturing bases in the world, it also contributes positively to the overall economy, especially in the automotive industry," said president Ryoichi Sasaki
"Moreover, it has led to more employment and transfers of technology and knowledge necessary for the industry."
