Sep. 6--Waste-treatment operators say state financial support in the form of soft loans is needed to help the industry grow.
The huge capital investment required in building new waste-treatment facilities has deterred potential investors and slowed the industry's growth, according to Sombat Teekasap, chairman of Environmental Management Industry Club (EMIC), a unit of the Federation of Thai Industries.
He suggested that government support for the construction of new waste-sorting factories would help encourage new operators.
