PRAGUE, June 1 (CTK) - The business policy of state-run fuel storage company Cepro is to blame in part for last week's shortage of fuel at Czech petrol stations, the daily Hospodarske noviny says today.
Cepro reduced its petrol supplies to an "emergency regime" in the past months and could not meet distributors' demands, the daily adds.
The company said last weekend that refinery Ceska rafinerska, a unit of giant oil group Unipetrol, was to blame for the shortage due to an accident in its plant.
"Ceska rafinerska has ceased to supply fuels to the Czech market or has supplied them in limited volumes," Cepro spokeswoman Alena Cechova told the Czech Television last Saturday.
Cepro supervisory board chairman Ales Cincibus admitted the daily was right but said the company had had to reduce stocks to resolve a difficult financial situation caused by lost court disputes over Kc3 billion from last November.
