Scoring big in Vegas.(Brew News)
As the 40th trade show for Coffee Fest came to a close, the general sentiment was success. Coffee Fest Las Vegas 2005 and the Great American Dessert Expo were held together at the Las Vegas Convention Center on June 3-5. Coffee Fest and the Dessert Expo together had more than 300 exhibitors who featured their products for the more than 3,350 attendees who walked through the show during the three-day period. Attendees had the opportunity to visit more than 70 educational classes and take part in several exciting extras offered at Coffee Fest. Tea & Coffee Trade Journal presented the Millrock Latte Art Competition, which featured 19 baristas from across the country. Portland, Ore.'s Billy Wilson from Albina Press won first place in the Latte Art Competition, winning a $1,000 grand prize. Daniel Wayne from Lux Coffee Bar in Phoenix won the second-place prize of $500, and the third-place winner, Brian Freire from Java House ...
