Mourners mark Beslan tragedy
Thousands in Russia commemorated the first anniversary of the terror attack at Beslan School No. 1 that killed 331, more than half of the victims children. Masked militants, demanding the withdrawal of Russian forces from Chechnya, planted bombs on the first day of school and held more than 1,100 hostages for 52 hours. The school has been replaced by two new schools built after the attack.
