St Ives v Sileby Rangers SILEBY boss Gary Petts is hoping Monday's defeat against ON Chenecks will be the wake-up call needed to beat St Ives tomorrow.
The division one leaders suffered a 3-2 defeat at Billing Road in a performance that Petts described as "dreadful".
With just three games left Petts knows that Sileby can't afford another slip up as their rivals all have a game in hand. Petts said: "Chenecks were really up for it and we weren't which was very disappointing. We gave them a real roasting afterwards, but the lads shouldn't a big team talk for this game. It is a massive cup final for us and if we win it is back in our hands again." Sileby ended St Ives' 16-game unbeaten run last month by beating them 3-0 to go top and Petts is hoping for something similar tomorrow, but he will have to do it without influential midfielder Paul Bennett who has a hamstring strain.
"There have been quite a few points dropped among the top teams lately," said Petts. "I think the pressure is beginning to tell." Cogenhoe v Daventry Cogenhoe will be looking for another goalfeast against one of the premier division's strugglers tomorrow.
The Cooks romped to a 6-1 win over Spencer on Monday to go 10 points clear at the top and another four goals will see them notch 100 in the league.
Darren Collins, who turned down a move to Nationwide North side Kettering Town, scored his first goal since returning after a month out with a knee injury, but it was top-scorer Richard Turner who was the star with a second-half hat-trick.
