THIEVES have targeted a pub which was closed because of a major fire just 24 hours earlier.
The Hopping Hare in Harlestone Road, Duston, is due to be closed for the next two months while work is carried out to repair the building's roof after it was virtually destroyed by a fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
But the fire damage did not stop thieves breaking into the pub at about 3am on Sunday.
Police believe the thieves used a van to take away a large amount of stock, including bottles of wine and spirits.
