(From Northampton Chronicle and Echo)
DOZENS of residents from a complex of luxury apartments in Northampton were forced to use the showers at a show home when their water supply was cut off.
People living in three blocks of flats at the Riverside Wharf development off Towcester Road, in Far Cotton, had to make do with using the bathroom facilities at the three-storey show home 100 yards away after a water pump become faulty.
The problem on the housing estate, which is still undergoing development by construction firm Bellway Homes, began at about 6pm on Sunday.
By Tuesday evening residents at the affected flats in West Cotton Close were still queuing at Waveney Viewhome to use the shower and fill buckets of water from the taps.
Resident Steve Beckett, aged 44, a vet, said: "It's a complete nightmare. It's a farce.
"These are supposed to be brand new flats and in the six weeks I have been living here, the water pump has broken down four times.
