A NURSING home in Northampton which closed down following of a string of failures is to re-open following a revamp costing in excess of GBP1million by its new owners.
Proprietors Tim and Anita Robinson are hoping to fill the gap in elderly care with their Symphony Nursing Home, in Queens Park Parade, Kingsthorpe.
Its predecessor Springfield Nursing Home shut down in August last year, after a dossier of evidence alleging bad working practices in the privately-run home was presented to magistrates.
Its new owners have spent the last six months carrying out a major overhaul on the building which will provide accommodation for 25 elderly residents.
Registered manager Darren Weeks said: "Although this is a privately-run home, Tim and Anita's main aim is to give something back to the community by providing a high level of nursing care for elderly residents.
"They were aware of the care home's previous bad reputation and wanted to change that when they took over the premises in November last year.
