COBBLERS manager Colin Calderwood says he would love to sign any one of the young strikers that spent time on loan with the club last season.
Stuart Noble and Danny Crow are free agents this summer after being released by Fulham and Norwich City, while Lee Barnard has signed a new deal at Tottenham but could possibly be acquired temporarily.
And Calderwood says that although he is monitoring the situation of all three, it would be a case of a striker leaving Sixfields before a new one could arrive.
"We're aware of their situations and we're interested," he said. "It's just a case of speaking to them and seeing if they're happy to come.
"But we've got four strikers at the moment and I don't see too many adjustments in that area so unless someone comes and takes one of those away then there won't be too much happening.
"Four's enough for me and four of the standard we've got, all having a chance of playing, is ideal.
