More than 100 companies were nominated for various awards but the highest went to AngloGold Ashanti, which has been operating in the region in 1897.
Currently the world's number one gold producer, AngloGold Ashanti, formerly Ashanti Goldfields, has won the Platinum Award as the best company in the Ashanti Region.
The award, dubbed 'Ashanti Business Excellence Award' was instituted by the Manhyia Palace last year to honour the best run companies in the region in terms of contribution to the region and Ghana as a whole.
