Cruise ships mulled as shelters
Carnival Cruise Lines said the U.S. government has asked whether some of its 21 cruise ships could be used as emergency shelters to help Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The world's largest cruise line, whose ships can hold up to 5,000 passengers, said that although "to undertake such an endeavor would involve many complicated issues, we are actively taking a look at it."
