Sep. 1--Thailand is projected to produce 1.2 million cars and trucks and more than three million motorcycles next year, well above the production target set under a master plan that aims to make the country the regional automobile manufacturing hub, according to a report from the Board of Investment.
The master plan, covering 2006 to 2010, calls for the production of one million vehicles next year, with 400,000 units to be exported. Another 2.7 million motorcycles are expected, with 700,000 earmarked for the export market.
