A 7.2-magnitude earthquake has hit northeastern Japan, triggering tsunamis along the country's Pacific coast, collapsing buildings, knocking out power and shaking skyscrapers in Tokyo, more than 300km away. At least 36 people have been injured.
The quake caused a roof to cave in at an indoor swimming pool in the coastal city of Sendai, injuring 14 people, national broadcaster NHK reported.
Two more people were injured in the neighbouring prefecture of Iwate, Kyodo News Agency reported.
Local authorities said they were still tallying injuries, but NHK said there were preliminary reports ...
