MG: Is US tort reform likely at any time in the future?
LH: In May I went over to see the American Tort Law Reform Association, and also spent some time with senators and congressmen talking through what is happening over there. There is no doubt that the president has made tort reform a key issue, having dealt with it in his State of the Union address; there are bills before Congress, including Senator Grassley's bill on asbestos cases, also house judiciary committee chairman, Sensen-Brenner, too has a number of bills, including one on medical negligence.
