Every year, the great and the good of the reinsurance industry decamp to the wilds of Monte Carlo for the annual Rendez-Vous, packing a great deal of work into a very small amount of time and an even smaller amount of space.

For many people, their first visit to the Rendez-Vous can leave heads spinning and body clocks rather disoriented. The spectacle of several thousand people arriving almost as one in the square in front of the casino can impress anyone (and, if they are new to the market and don't know what their contacts look like, also appal anyone).
