(From Reinsurance)
Aon Re has announced that it is now exchanging data electronically using ACORD XML messaging in production to communicate with one of its reinsurance partners, XL Re. ACORD, the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development, is a non-profit insurance association that sets standards for the insurance and reinsurance industries through its member companies, emphasising sharing information among diverse platforms. ACORD XML messaging has become the industry standard for exchanging data and supporting documents.
By using the ACORD Certified XML Technical Account process, Aon Re says that it is now processing business more efficiently, and claims that client information can now be sent daily to any of its reinsurance partners over the web. Since Aon Re can handle multiple versions of ACORD, message recipients can implement new versions of the ACORD messages at their discretion.
