MetLife has said that it has received a subpoena from Florida's attorney general and Oklahoma's insurance commissioner over broker compensation practices.
New York-based MetLife disclosed the subpoenas in its quarterly report filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
MetLife said the Florida subpoena seeks copies of documents it had produced in response to subpoenas by Florida's financial services and insurance regulators concerning topics including compensation paid to intermediaries.
