Section: General News - Deputy Prime Minister Pol. Maj. Gen. Chidchai Vanasatidya said that 20 suspected insurgents turned themselves in today in Narathiwat, joining more than 50 militants who had earlier surrendered to police in the three southernmost provinces.
He conceded that a large number of insurgents still refused to follow suit. Gen. Chidchai, who is also justice minister, said that while he was notified that the young men turned themselves to the authorities today, he declined to state how many armed militants might actually be still at large.
