Section: Corporate News - A group of farmers in Chachoengsao Province are protesting Eastern Water Resources (EASTW)'s use of water from the Bangpakong River, a report in Krungthep Turakij said.
A group of about 500 farmers from Chachoengsao joined to protest EASTW's operations on 30 August. They claim that since EASTW began pumping about 20,000 cubic metres of water a day from the Bangpakong River, it has caused the water in their area to become salty and unsuitable for farming. They are concerned that they will no longer be able to make a living.
