Section: General News - The Thai Federation on Logistics (TFL) has been formed with a goal to help local businesses improve their competitiveness by reducing the country's logistics costs to 15% of GDP within three years from the current 19%, the Bangkok Post reports.
Businesses must work together with government to develop logistics infrastructure and human resources, said Suchart Chantaranakaracha, the chairman of the Thai National Shippers' Council.
The council is one of 17 trade bodies in the TFL, which also includes representatives from the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Thai International Cargo and Container Terminals Association. It aims to serve as a national forum to draft ideas and policy initiatives to propose to the government.
