A DEVELOPMENT of 'green' holiday homes on the outskirts of Richmond is in the running for a competition to celebrate the best of the region's building projects.

The lodge style homes - being constructed by Ecobuild UK on the 50-acre Aislabeck site to the west of the town - have been shortlisted for the prestigious Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Pro Yorkshire Awards 2005 in the Design and Innovation Category.

The scheme is designed to recognise projects which have made a positive contribution to property, construction or the environment and aim to celebrate Yorkshire and its diversity.
