Test backrower Nathan Hindmarsh is still only considered a "50-50 chance" of running out for the Eels in their NRL clash with Canberra at Parramatta Stadium on Sunday.

Hindmarsh was cleared of a calf tear by mid-week scans and has been having intensive physiotherapy but the Eels still have grave concerns for the tireless forward.

No one has been named on standby for Hindmarsh despite the workaholic backrower initially expected to miss up to two games when he suffered the injury at training earlier this week.

A decision on his fitness will be made on Sunday morning.
