The nation's oldest liberal arts college for women will open its external degree programs to men, officials at St. Mary-of-the-Woods IN announced recently.

Since its creation in 1840, the school has been a women's school. The residential campus will remain women only, but the undergraduate distance ed and adult ed programs will include men, said President Joan Lescinski.
