Polls from many countries around the globe show that support for U.S. efforts to fight terrorism is flagging. The one exception in a late spring poll from Pew was Indonesia, where favorable opinion is up, probably because of U.S. contributions to tsunami relief. Americans are aware that the United States is less well liked and respected than in the past, but they remain resolute about fighting the war on terror. Americans always prefer to act with their allies when it is possible. They know it is not always possible.
