Yamoussoukro, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe has implicitly supported President Laurent Gbagbo in Yamoussoukro, Friday in his stand-off with a coalition of seven opposition parties out of the 10 signatories of the Linas-Marcoussis peace agreements.

"President Faure Gnassingbe has expressed his support to President Laurent Gbagbo in his efforts to restore peace and security in Cote d'Ivoire and reaffirmed Togo's support to the mediator, (South African) President Thabo Mbeki," says a joint communique issued at the end of their meeting here.
