Secrets of a Survivor By Jenna Morasca When I first found out that I was going to be on Survivor: Amazon, I pretty much freaked out. The first thing I thought was, How can I be on TV with hairy armpits? The day before I left for the Amazon, I went to the spa and had the works: Brazilian bikini wax, underarm wax, facial, eyelash dyeing, and a deep-conditioning treatment. The show lasts six weeks, and I knew once I got there, there would be no mascara, razors -- not even toothpaste. My last night in civilization I piled on as much waterproof black eyeliner and berry-colored lip stain as I could handle. My thinking was that as it wore off, there would still be traces of color on my lips and definition around my eyes. A few weeks into the trip, my underarm hair started growing in. I tried plucking it out by hand, but it was so tiring, I gave up. I tried not to raise my arms. [Fellow Survivor] Heidi and I also tried shaving our legs with machetes -- which of course didn't work. And to deal with our bikini lines, we kept pulling our bathing suits down. The funny thing is you can't see body hair on TV.
