A total of 88,991 senior high school graduates will advance to universities and colleges next month, accounting for a record high of 89.08 percent of graduates who filed admission applications after taking the entrance examination.

The percentage represents a rise of 1.96 percentage points from last year's 87.05 percent.

All of the 1,193 graduates from the Taipei Municipal Senior High School this year were accepted by the universities, including 83 percent going to national universities which charges lower tuition but require better grades.
