Lotus 1-2-3 and Microsoft Excel users can now exercise control over the data in their spreadsheets with the management tools in TM/1 Perspectives, a database engine from Sinper Corp.
"Over the years the spreadsheet has been used as a reporting tool, and it became its own database," said Manny Perez, president of Sinper. "Unfortunately it has no facilities for managing data."
The $495 product is based upon the earlier TM/1 product, an analytical database with a spreadsheet front end. Sinper has unbundled the database and modified it to operate from within existing Windows spreadsheets.
